The Prude and the Prodigal
THE PRUDE AND THE PRODIGAL
"I think Prunella," the Earl said slowly, "you are offering me a challenge."
"I do not...know what you are...talking about," Purnella replied.
"I am talking about love, and of course, your ignorance of it."
To Prunella's astonishment, the Earl's arms were around her. He pulled her against him an his lips were on hers. She felt a strange sensation she had never known before rise within her. She felt as if time and place had ceased to exist, that her feet were no longer on the ground. As she tried to come back to Earth, she heard the Earl say:
"How soon will you marry me so that I can continue to teach you about love?"
