Science: The Endless Frontier
In 1945, Dr. Vannevar Bush, then director of the wartime Office of Scientific Research and Development, prepared a report for President Franklin Roosevelt to recommend a national approach towards science and research. Among those recommendations was the establishment of the National Science Foundation, which was founded five years later. This book features Dr. Bush's report with an introduction by Alan T. Waterman, first director director of the NSF. This digital edition was derived from ACLS Humanities E-Book's (http: //www.humanitiesebook.org) online version of the same title.
