On the occasion of the great retrospective of Gottfried Helnwein in the marble palace in St. Petersburg in 1997, the Russian State Museum published the most comprehensive monograph on this artist yet. This is the first publication which deals with all aspects of the artistic work of Helnwein between 1970 and 1997: his graphic works as well as his watercolors, oils and mixed media pictures, his photographic work, his actions and his installations and his works for the theater.
