The Naval Officer's Guide

Since 1943 the Naval Officer's Guide has been the single most important source of information and advice for officers in the U.S. Navy. Intended primarily for junior officers, it also serves as a ready reference for senior officers and is often referred to by enlisted members and interested civilians. While the accumulated wisdom of past generations has been retained, this new, eleventh edition is totally revised and modernized to reflect recent changes in policy, equipment, and social customs.

New to this edition are chapters discussing basic leadership principles for the newly commissioned officer and helpful information on enlisted members' training, education, advancement, and retention. Also new is a chapter on the Navy's core values, ethics, and conduct. Appendixes provide information on military justice, recommended professional reading, and a manual for officer accession programs
